Evaluations to begin from Mar 17 under CCTV vigil
LUCKNOW: Evaluation of UP Board classes 10 and 12 answer sheets will begin from March 17 under CCTV vigil, said board officials.
Besides, evaluators will not be allowed to use mobile phones inside the centres.
This is for the first time that such strict measures have been adopted to ensure fair evaluation. The instructions have been given by deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma.
Mukesh Kumar Singh, district inspector of schools (DIoS) has issued strict guidelines for the teachers as well as the evaluation centres.
RP Mishra, state spokesperson UP Madhyamik Shikshak Sangh said: “This time each teacher will be allowed to check only 40 copies for class 12 and 50 copies for class 10 per day. Earlier the numbers used to be above 100. This would positively affect the quality of evaluation.”
All teachers assigned the task will have to report at the centre at 10 am and entry of outsiders will be banned, said the DIoS.
“Every teacher will have to bring a copy of their appointment letter duly signed by the school principal to the evaluation centre, he said.
The UP Board examinations were conducted under strict monitoring this year.
Uttar Pradesh police’s special task force and CCTV cameras kept a vigil to put a check on rampant copying during the state-run tests.
The state government had sought the help of the task force in 50 districts that were identified as sensitive by the board.
“Never such a wide scale monitoring was put in place and it shows the will of the government to hold free and fair examinations and evaluations,” said Mishra.
