Admn team attacked during raid on abattoir
BAREILLY: A team of senior administrative officials was attacked during raid on an illegal slaughter house here on Thursday, despite being escorted by police. Two men were arrested and four others detained for questioning, said cops. The incident occurred in Thiriya area in the afternoon during raid on an illegal abattoir.

few miscreants started pelting us with stones,” said additional district magistrate of Bareilly SP Singh. The police team accompanying the officials launched an offensive against the miscreants before they could do much damage. A police constable received minor injuries during the incident but the other officials managed to escape unhurt.
“The situation was brought under control within a few minutes and additional police force was called in to maintain law and order,” said SP (Bareilly) Rohit Singh.
Later, officials inspected the slaughter house. “It was found to be operating without proper documents despite previous warnings. So it was sealed,” said the officer. Reportedly, the action was taken against the slaughter house following complaint of locals in the area. The administration has issued a notice to the alleged owners of the abattoir.
Police have registered an FIR regarding the matter and charged the accused with obstructing government officials in public work and arrested two people. “We have arrested Anas and Munna for their alleged involvement in the attack,” said the SP. Police also detained four others.
