ALLAHABAD: Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad (ABAP), the apex body of Hindu saints, released its third list of two more fake babas on Friday.

Announcing the list, ABAP president Swami Narendra Giri said in an executive meeting of the Parishad, the seers unanimously named president of Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha Swami Chakrapani Maharaj and peethadhishwar of Kalkipeetham in Sambhal Acharya Pramod Krishnan as fake saints.

“Both of them do not belong to any tradition of sadhus, sanyasis or akhadas. Like the previous ones, this list will also be submitted to the chief minister,” he said.

“If any saint is found attending a ceremony or function organised by fake babas, he will also face boycott from the saint community. It is unfortunate that these self-styled godmen cheat innocent devotees in the name of God and spirituality,” Giri said.

Reacting to his name being included in list, Swami Chakrapani termed ABAP and its head Narendra Giri fake.

Talking over phone from New Delhi, Chakrapani said: “When the second list was released by ABAP, I had warned him against indulging in such acts.”

“I had made it clear that if the release of the list is repeated, I will expel him from the ‘Sant Samaj’. I have expelled him from Sant Samaj and dismissed him from the post of ABAP head for five years for bringing disrepute to ‘Sanatan dharm’,” he said.

Chakrapani said he had written to Narendra Giri in this connection. Peethadhishwar of Kalkipeetham in Sambhal Acharya Pramod Krishnan was not available for comment.

ABAP had released its second list on December 29 when it had named Sachidanand Saraswati of Basti, Virendra Dixit Kalnemi of Delhi and founder of Pari Akhada Trikala Bhavanta of Allahabad as fake saints.

WILL BOYCOTT SNAN’

A proposal for the boycott of ‘shahi snan’ in Kumbh Mela 2019 by the akhadas was passed on the call of national vice-president of Shree Panchdashanam Juna Akhada Mahant Premgiri during the meeting.

Upset over the delay by the state government in making permanent arrangements for akhada members at their land/ ashrams in Allahabad, ABAP decided to not to demand any facility in Kumbh Mela and boycott the ‘shahi snan’.
