Every Indian is proud of the Indian Army: Yogi

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that every Indian was proud of the Indian Army and added that the armed forces had many achievemen­ts to their credit through bravery and courage.

The CM was speaking at the ‘Civil-Military Relations Conference-2018’ here on Tuesday. He also underlined as to how each one of us had a commitment towards the motherland and added that for this reason mutual problems should be solved through dialogue.

He said that the state government was keen to address the problems faced by the army and said that he had directed the state government officials to hold a positive attitude towards all the problems raised and faced by the army. On the occasion, it was also decided that all the recipients of the Ashok Chakra series (Ashok Chakra, Kirti Chakra, Shaurya Chakra), other bravery awards and special medals, prior to January 1, 1986, will get the enhanced award amount and annuity.

The CM also said that a government order, to assimilate the dependents of the martyrs or maimed army personnel during an army operation, had also been issued. He also directed the chief secretary to review the quota of ex-army personnel in the state services. Also present on the occasion were GoC (North India) Lt Gen Harish Thukral, chief secretary Rajeev Kumar and senior officers of the army and the state government.
