Youth pushes girl off roof after failed molestation bid

KANPUR: A teenage girl was thrown off the rooftop of her house for resisting the overtures of a local boy, who had allegedly been stalking her since many days in Fatehpur, said police on Wednesday. An FIR has been registered against Suraj Raidass for attempting to murder the girl.

KANPUR: A teenage girl was thrown off the rooftop of her house for resisting the overtures of a local boy, who had allegedly been stalking her since many days in Fatehpur, said police on Wednesday.

An FIR has been registered against Suraj Raidass for attempting to murder the girl.

The girl’s father alleged that Suraj barged into the house and dragged his daughter, who was sleeping at the time, to the roof where he tried to molest her.

When she raised an alarm, he pushed her from the roof after which he escaped.

“The victim, a student of class 10, has been admitted in the district hospital with fractures in the leg. Raids are being carried to arrest the accused,” said Ramesh Patel, SHO of Aung police station of district.
