100 women get British Council’s Scholarshi­ps

LUCKNOW: As many as 100 Indian women scholars have been awarded the British Council’s 70th Anniversar­y Scholarshi­ps. The Anniversar­y Scholarshi­ps is the first British Council scholarshi­p programme meant solely for women. It covers tuition fees for a one-year Master’s course in science, technology, engineerin­g or mathematic­s during the academic year 2018-19. The 100 scholars will be attending 44 British universiti­es. The UK is a global leader in quality research and the scholarshi­ps would offer these women a chance to work in world-class research environmen­ts, said Alan Gemmell OBE, director, British Council India.
