HC seeks AAP govt’s reply on Shahbuddin’s plea
NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court on Wednesday sought a response of the AAP government on a plea filed by former RJD MP and controversial leader Mohammad Shahbuddin challenging his solitary confinement at Tihar jail. A bench issued notice and asked to file the counter affidavit within three weeks, listing the matter for further hearing on April 27. Shahabuddin was shifted to Tihar jail here from a jail in Siwan, Bihar, after orders of Supreme Court. Appearing for the petitioner, his counsel, senior advocate Amarendra Sharan, said his client has been kept in solitary confinement and is being subjected to custodial torture.
