₹20L EX GRATIA FOR KIN OF MAN KILLED IN CLASH

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath announced ₹20 lakh ex gratia for the family of Ram Narayan, who was killed in a group clash in Abu Nagar area in Fatehpur district, on Sunday. Ordering strict action against the culprit, the CM directed the state DGP to submit a detailed report on the incident. A police officer said one person died and half-adozen were injured in the clash between two groups over a land dispute in Abu Nagar on Sunday. Violence gripped the area as anti-social elements indulged in arson and pelted stone on vehicles. Senior officers rushed with police force to control the situation, he said.

LUCKNOW: A man died and his brother was injured in firing and mob violence in Abunagar in Fatehpur City on Sunday evening.

The incident led to arson, protest, and demonstrat­ion. Angry villagers continued protest till the filing of this report even as chief minister Yogi Aditynath announced Rs 20 lakh aid to the next of kin of Ramnarain Yadav who died.

Circle officer of Fatehpur City said a case had been registered and police were out to arrest the culprits.

The dispute happened over a five bigha land, which reportedly was of gram sabha and where villagers used to tie their cattle.

However, some people had been spotted doing measuremen­t of the land for the last couple of days, reports said.

On Sunday, over two dozen men, including some armed ones, reached the land and asked the villagers to remove the cattle.

An altercatio­n broke out in which some armed men opened fire on the villagers, in which Ramnarain died on the spot while his brother was injured.

The villagers then set afire five motorcycle­s on which the supporters of those who claimed the land came.

The villagers placed the body of Ramnarain on the road and protested.
