Kumbh 2019: Enjoy luxurious stay at 5000 Swiss cottages
ALLAHABAD : People planning to visit Kumbh Mela 2019 will have a chance of luxurious stay at Swiss cottages that will come up in the city for the convenience of visitors during the religious event.
A whopping 5000 such cottages matching three, five and seven star hotel services and comforts will be set up in the tent city. As per the decision of the Mela authorities taken during a meeting held recently, the state tourist department will set up these 5000 air-conditioned cottages will be set up on 50 acres of land.
“The interior and exterior of the cottages will give a feel similar to the ones people find in three, five and seven star hotels. With spacious lobby, parking, gardens, beds and sofas, LED TVs and decorative ceilings, the cottages will also have 24x7 power supply,” said regional tourist officer, Allahabad region, Anupam Srivastava.
“There will also be concierge, multilingual friendly-staff with laundry, dry cleaning, ironing and shoe-shine services. It will also have high quality dining on-site with wi-fi facility,” he added. According to him, the stature of Kumbh increased after it was recognised as ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage’ by UNESCO drawing attention of world.
“Therefore, many prominent tourists and VIPs from different parts of the world are also expected to arrive. Hence, efforts are being made to set up these cottages as it is now a matter of pride and prestige for us,” he said. He said the exercise will kick start as soon the land for the same was finalised.
