₹60 cr development boost for Lucknow
LUCKNOW: The city’s development is set to take a giant leap as the state government has released funds of over ₹60 crore as the first installment for long pending projects to enhance connectivity and streamline traffic.
District magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said the funds are released by the Public Works Department (PWD) in order to take Lucknow’s development to another level.
He said the development work would not only ensure better connectivity, but would also keep a check on frequent traffic jams.
The state government released around ₹115 lakh for the widening and beautification of the 14-km stretch connecting Mal and Itaunja. The total cost of the project us around ₹2046.35 lakh.
District administration officials said the widening of road would smoothen traffic flow on the stretch that is on the list of roads vulnerable to traffic jams.
A fund of around ₹5 lakh has been released for widening of roads in Malihabad town, the

total cost of which is ₹48.49 lakh.
Besides, the state government has also released funds for the construction of long pending rail over bridges.
It has released ₹266.95 lakh for the construction of rail over bridge on Lucknow-Kanpur route, near Amausi Railway station (total cost of project ₹8898.37).
The government has also released ₹300 lakh against the total cost of 2565.58 lakh for the construction of rail over bridge on Nagram road on Lucknow Sultanpur rail section.
Similarly, a fund of around ₹3,048.30 lakh has been released against the total cost of ₹13,250.92 lakh for the construction of rail over bridge on Lucknow-Barabanki railway line.
