Two decomposed bodies found in Indira Canal

LUCKNOW: Bodies of two unidentified youths were found floating in Indira Canal in Chinhat area here on Tuesday morning. Police claimed that the bodies had come floating from some other districts and got stuck below a regulator at the bridge made over the canal. One of the body was totally naked while other had clothes on it.

Inspector of Chinhat police station, Raj Kumar Singh said locals informed the police after spotting the floating bodies. He said the bodies seemed to be several days old and were decomposed.

“We tried to ascertain their identities but it seems the two deceased are not locals and the bodies came here floating from some other district. The adjoining districts have been alerted about it,” he said. The bodies had been sent for post-mortem examination and further investigations would be initiated as per its findings, he added.
