GORAKHPUR: Thirty-year-old Rajal Gupta was overjoyed on Wednesday when governor Ram Naik released his book ‘Rajal Niti’- part 3 at Raj Bhawan and praised his passion for writing.

Rajal Niti 3, a collection of motivational and inspirational write-ups is Rajal ‘s third book.

The previous two books - Rajal Niti 1 and 2 ( released by CM Yogi last year ) were on time management.

The first chapter of Rajal Niti 1, when posted on social media was read by over 5 lakh people across the world.

The first two books have also been ordered in large numbers on Amazon, Flipkart and others online portals.

Born and brought up in a middle-class family , Rajal’s journey from a school dropout to an author is inspiring.

In 2002, disheartened by repeated taunts and punishment given by teachers for underperforming in school examination, Rajal discontinued his studies from class 9 and decided to stay at home.

His grandfather late Radheshyam Gupta, owner of a small showroom, motivated him to continue his studies and told him inspiring stories of legends like Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Edison, who struggled a lot before their achievement were acknowledged by the world.

With his grandfather’s support he completed Class 10 from open school and passed with good grades. He then went on to get nine more degrees, including BCA, journalism and LLB.

2002 was a turning point for him when one of his friends committed suicide due to depression. He then wrote an article on the psychological aspects that can prompt a person to end his life, and the preventable measures that should be taken after identifying suicidal symptoms.

This made him recognise his writing potential after which he also went on to work for a Hindi daily.

Two years ago, he came up with Rajal Niti followed by Rajal Niti 2.

Rajal says, “Studies are important but don’t get disheartened if you are not good at them as several such students have gone up to achieve success.”
