75-year-old objects to being given less ration, beaten to death
MUZAFFARNAGAR: A 75-year-old woman died after she was allegedly beaten up by a ration shop owner’s husband and his two brothers when she objected to being given less ration, police said.
The incident occurred in village Kheri Firozabad under Kakrauli police station of Muzaffarnagar district on Friday.
Circle officer of Bhopa police station area Rizwan Ahmad said police have registered a case against three people under section 304 of IPC. No arrests have been made so far.
Police said the victim’s son Riyaz Ali filed a named FIR against three persons -- Shameem, Naseem and Jaan Mohammad.

ration and an enraged Shameem beat her up.”
Riyaz further said, in the FIR, that Shameem’s brothers Naseem and Jaan Mohammad, who were present on the spot, also pushed his mother towards the wall, causing her a severe head injury. Riyaz said when he and other family members reached the shop, they found his mother lying on the floor and vomiting blood. She died while being taken to hospital, he said.
The enraged villagers then staged a protest demonstration over the incident and police had to intervene to calm them down.
CO Bhopa said the body has been sent for post-mortem examination and search for the accused was on.
