Proposal barring energy cos directors from applying elsewhere for two years approved

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh cabinet on Tuesday approved a proposal to bar those appointed as directors of energy sector companies from applying for an equivalent post in other company for two years. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the meeting of the state cabinet that took a decision in this regard here.

Briefing media persons, minister for medical and health and UP government spokesman Siddharth Nath Singh said the decision would affect five companies of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporatio­n Limited (UPPCL).

He said the directors would, however, be entitled to apply for a higher post in the same company.

TRIPARTITE AGREEMENT TERM EXTENDED

The state cabinet decided to extend for another 15 years the term of tripartite agreement that the UPPCL had signed with the central electricit­y authority to buy power and Coal India to buy coal. The agreement will be extended with retrospect­ive effect from November 1, 2016.

TIGER CONSERVATI­ON FOUNDATION

The UP cabinet decided to constitute Dudhwa Tiger Conservati­on Foundation to promote ecotourism and create jobs that would also help local scheduled tribes. The funds for the foundation will be mobilised from different sources that include entry fee from tourists and assistance from national and internatio­nal agencies for special projects. A 12-member governing body to be headed by the forest minister will be set up for management of the foundation. A four-member executive committee will also be set up to take care of day to day work of the foundation. Two more foundation­s for Chuka (Pilibhit) and Nishangara (Bijnor) will also be set up.

INTEGRATED SUGAR COMPLEX

The state cabinet approved a proposal to set up an Integrated Sugar Complex at the Kisan Cooperativ­e Sugar Factory Limited Majhola (Pilibhit) that had been lying closed since 2011.

The complex will be developed on public private partnershi­p (PPP) model and 40.30 hectare land of the closed sugar mill will be given on lease for 30 years. The cabinet approved a lease rent of Rs 90 lakh for first 10 years, Rs 1.35 crore for 11 to 20 years and Rs 1.80 crore for 21 to 30 years.

An investment of Rs 260 crore is expected in the implementa­tion of the project.

MULTI-PURPOSE AUDITORIUM IN BALLIA

The state cabinet approved higher specificat­ions for constructi­on of a multi-purpose 1000 capacity auditorium on collectora­te compound of Ballia. A revised cost of Rs 5.95 crore has been approved for the auditorium expected to be completed by December.

SERVICE RULES AMENDMENT APPROVED

The state cabinet approved UP Homeguards (Fifth Amendment) Service Rules 2018. A post of joint commandant general has been created.
