Lucknow Book Fair at SNA from April 27

LUCKNOW: With the theme of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’, this year’s Lucknow Book Fair will be organised at Sangeet Natak Akademi here from April 27 to May 6.

Leading publishers and distributors are likely to participate in the fair which would be organised jointly with Ankuram Shiksha Mahotsav.

Anoop Gupta, founder of I Care India, said, “Ankuram Shiksha Mahotsav aims to encourage participation of young students studying in various schools, particularly in government primary schools and their teachers, in exhibition and performance platform.”

In the Mahotsav, special sessions would also be organised on various topics such as quality primary education, agriculture and dairy, health, sports etc.

Aakarsh Chandel, director of Book Fair, said that Scholastic, Westland Limited (Chennai), AISECT Publication (Bhopal), Centre for Science and Environment (New Delhi), Diamond Books (New Delhi), Fountain Ink Broadcasting and Publishing (Chennai), Prakashan Sansthan, UP Hindi Sansthan, Hindi Vangmaya Nidhi, Public ki Awaz, Isha Foundation (Coimbatore), etc, would be some of the publishers who would display their stalls at the fair.

A variety of programmes including Kavi Sammelan, Mushayara, career consultation and guidance, book releases, meet the writers, plays, story-telling, book/poetry reading, quiz, stage performances, exhibition, etc, would also be organised as a part of the fair.
