KANPUR: The man, who had registered a case against the father of Unnao rape survivor on April 3, has been missing for the past 10 days, his family said.

Bhupendra Singh on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Makhi police claiming that his brother Tinku Singh had not returned home for the past 10 days. Station officer, Makhi, Rajesh Singh said a complaint has been registered and the police were trying to find him.

Tinku had lodged an FIR against the father of Unnao girl who has accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar of raping her on June 4 last year.

Tinku happens to be a cousin of the rape survivor’s father.

The girl’s uncle said Tinku might have been kidnapped by the legislator’s aides.

“Tinku was forced to lodge an FIR against my brother claiming that he (girl’s father) stormed into his house with a firearm with an intention to kill him,” he said.

“We all tried to get in touch with Tinku in the past one week but his mobile phone was found to be switched off. No one has heard from him in the past 10 days,” the girl’s uncle said.

“There was no issue between our families. Tinku’s father told me that no such thing, as mentioned in Tinku’s complaint, happened on April 3,” he said.

The girl’s father was allegedly thrashed by MLA’s brother Atul Singh Sengar and others on April 3 after which he was taken to Makhi police station.
