Ace pistol shooter Heena Sidhu slips down the ladder in Korean World Cup
NEWDELHI: After winning gold in women’s 25m sports pistol in the Gold Cost Commonwealth Games, Heena Sidhu failed to impress in the World Cup in Changwon, Korea. With a score of 575 out of possible 600m, she finished 37th in the qualifying round. Rahi Sarnobat though reached the final but eventually finished fourth. India also missed podium finish in 10m air rifle mixed team event.

FIVE WOMEN BOXERS INCH CLOSER TO MEDAL
BANGKOK: Five Indian women boxers assured themselves of medals, two of them also inching closer to qualifying for this year’s Youth Olympic Games in Argentina, after advancing to the semis of the Asian Championships here on Monday. Anamika (51kg) and Astha Pahwa (75kg) were assured of medals and remained in the hunt for booking a berth to the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires. While Anamika defeated Mongolia’s Mungunsaran Balsan, Astha Pahwa got the better of China’s Xiyue Wang. Both the boxers won in unanimous verdicts.
