ALIGARH: The Narendra Modi government has been exposed and the public was now demanding the launch of a grand alliance against the BJP, said national president of Rashtriya Lok Dal Ajit Singh while addressing the media in Aligarh on Tuesday.

“Efforts to initiate a grand alliance of like-minded parties are in progress,” said Singh.

He added, “The main aim of such a grand alliance is not only to remove BJP from power but also to save the Constitution and democracy.”

Commenting on Muzaffarnagar riots, Ajit Singh said, “After Muzzaffarnagar riots, a rift has been formed between the Jats and Muslims and we are making efforts to maintain harmony.”

Singh also met Muslim intellectuals here and discussed with them current socio-political scenario in country.

Former AMUTA president Prof Razaullah Khan said Singh is making efforts for a grand alliance that may be formed before 2019 Lok Sabha elections. During interaction with Muslim intellectuals, Singh has revealed that he has demanded only five Lok Sabha seats in the proposed grand alliance, he said.

Meanwhile, in a sharp attack on the Prime Minister, Singh added that the PM was misguiding public by making false promises. On plight of farmers, Singh said, “Modi had promised that the government will bear the difference between the actual produce cost and market prices but he failed to make any provision in budget for that.”

On the recent spurt in cases of rapes, Singh said, “BJP had launched with much fanfare ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign but the cases of Kathua and Unnao are stark example of the real picture. Even BJP leaders are carrying out rallies in support of culprits.

Presently the daughters are not secure in BJP rule.” The RLD chief also attacked the PM over the promise to bring black money in country.
