ALLAHABAD: With UP Board’s class 10 (high school) and class 12 (intermediate) results set to be declared on Sunday, many students visited temples to keep their anxiety at bay on Saturday. The results will be declared at 12.30pm at Board’s headquarters in Allahabad by its director Awadh Naresh Sharma. Around 17 per cent (11.27 lakh) of 66.4 lakh registered students left the UP Board exam midway due to several strict anti-copying measures implemented this year. These measures included supply of coded answer sheets to 50 districts this year from 31 districts last year, installation of CCTV cameras at 8057 exam centres besides roping in STF to curb copying.

ALLAHABAD: With UP Board’s class 10 (High School) and class 12 (Intermediate) results set to be declared on Sunday, many students visited temples to keep their anxiety at bay on Saturday.

“I have done well in exam but am nervous. I along with my mother went to temple and prayed there. Hope I will repeat my performance of class 10 wherein I secured 72% marks,” said Jigyasa Mishra, a class 12 student of St DB Inter College here.

On the contrary, Devendra Kumar, who wrote his class 10 exam, of the same college preferred to chill out rather than worrying about the outcome.

“What is destined for me cannot be changed. I studied hard and have done well except in physics. I will get what I deserve so why to think about it. It won’t help me a bit. I have planned to watch back to back two movies before going to bed tonight,” he said. Principal of St DB Inter College, Sabrina Coutinho said students were nervous but they had been counselled to keep their cool. Further, Ajar Singh Patel, a class 12 student at Rani Reoti Devi Inter College, also offered prayers at Hanuman Temple in Civil Lines early on Saturday.

THE RESULTS WILL BE DECLARED AT 12.30PM AT UP BOARD’S HEADQUARTERS IN ALLAHABAD BY ITS DIRECTOR AWADH NARESH SHARMA

“I have done well but am nervous. The long wait will be unbearable as I will not be able to sleep well tonight,” he said. Anushka Mishra, class 10 student of the same college, is also nervous as she feels that strict evaluation this time will affect grades.

According to UP Board officials preferring anonymity, Board secretary Neena Srivastava will return from Delhi on Sunday morning for the declaration of results. The results will be declared at 12.30pm at Board’s headquarters in Allahabad by its director Awadh Naresh Sharma.
