‘Future is digital…lot of opportunity in computer engg’
LUCKNOW: There was jubilation among candidates in Lucknow who got good ranks in the JEE Main exam-2018, the results of which were declared on Monday evening.
Shubhang Pandey (all-India rank- 436) scored 286 out of 360 with 98 in physics, 94 in chemistry and mathematics. A student of Delhi Public School, Indira Nagar, he wants to pursue computer engineering.
“The future is all about computers and digital. I see a lot of opportunity and growth in this stream of engineering,” he said. His father Shailesh Pandey is a consolidation officer and mother Pushpa Pandey a supervisor at Integrated Children Development Scheme.
Talking about his strategy for the upcoming JEE Advanced, he said, “It is all about time management and regular practice of what one learnt during the last two years. I’m confident that I will do well in the next level of the competition.”
Another candidate Astitva Chaudhary, 18, (AIR 762), wants to become a physicist. “I want to do research because development of the country is possible only when scientists put their brains together in research work,” he emphasised.
A student of Seth MR Jaipuria, he secured 271 marks with 97 in chemistry, 96 in mathematics and 78 in physics. Astitva wants to get into IIT-Kanpur. “I love to read books, journals and magazines,” he said. Astitva’s father, Dinesh Chaudhary is an engineer with the fisheries department and mother Seema Chaudhary is a homemaker.
Utkarsh Gupta who secured AIR–1073 wants to go to IIT Delhi and then become a computer science engineer. His father, Govind Lal Gupta is a drug inspector and mother Veena Gupta is a homemaker. His strategy for JEE Advanced is to browse NCERT chemistry books. For mathematics and physics he will go through previous years’ question papers.
A student of GD Goenka Public School, Ankish Chandresh (AIR–1088) wants to pursue computer science engineering from IIT-Delhi. “I’m inclined towards robotics and hence computer science engineering is my first choice,” he said.
His father, Suman Kumar is a civil engineer and mother Durgawati Devi a homemaker. NCERT books were of great help, he said.
Ayush Singh, a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Gomti Nagar secured AIR 1245 by scoring 256 marks out of 360 with 100 in chemistry, 90 in mathematics and 66 in physics. He aspires to become a software engineer and wants to pursue computer science from IIT-Kanpur.
His father Dr Rakesh Singh and mother Dr Poonam Singh are dentists. For chemistry, he banked on NCERT books and regular practice was the key to fare well in physics and mathematics.
Others who brought laurels to the city included Divyansh Singh (AIR–1260), Yashasvi Suryavansh (AIR 1445), Priya Khulbe (AIR 5440) and Shreya Nigam (AIR 7799).
Elated at the results, NK Dubey, centre head, FIITJEE Lucknow, commented on the success of students saying, “It is a great achievement for us and a matter of enormous pride that our students have crafted yet another success story.”
