LUCKNOW The counting of votes for the election of the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh will start from May 10 at the Council’s office at Allahabad high court.

The Supreme Court on May 2 paved way for counting of votes by directing the Bar Council of India to look into the matter relating to counting of votes of the Bar Council of UP.

“The counting process will start from May 10 and is likely to take five to six months to complete. It is a long process as preferential votes are counted and elimination of candidates also takes place during counting,” said Srinath Tripathi, former member of the Bar Council of UP.
