FLO’s ‘Swayam’ initiative to help women entrepreneurs
LUCKNOW: Governor Ram Naik will inaugurate the Lucknow chapter of ‘Swayam’ -- a venture of the FICCI Ladies’ Organisation (FLO) at Raj Bhawan on Monday. State cabinet minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi, mayor Sanyukta Bhatia and national head, Swayam, Rati Dhandhania Mundrey will be present on the occasion.
Through ‘Swayam’, FLO supports aspiring and existing women entrepreneurs. The platform connects women entrepreneurs to people who can guide, mentor and assist them in launching their ventures or taking their businesses to the next level. It is especially useful for women who have a profitable idea and want to convert it to a business venture, and those who have been thrown into entrepreneurship due to circumstances but have no idea about managing a trade. FLO Lucknow-Kanpur chapter chairperson Renuka Tandon said, “Last year, we got four girls trained in driving e-rickshaws. At this event, they will be given e-rickshaws.”
Swayam’s hand-picked panel consists of specialists who understand the needs of women entrepreneurs and are equipped to guide and assist them.
“Whether one requires mentorship, legal assistance, financial and accounting guidance, funds or marketing help, Swayam can help connect all participating entrepreneurs to our expert panellists,” said Tandon.
FICCI FLO has been playing an important role in empowering women in all facets of life, especially in starting their own business ventures and becoming selfreliant.
