Modern School win a thriller against hosts in school soccer

LUCKNOW: Modern School surprised hosts Seth Anand Ram Jaipuria School in under-14 category, scoring 2-1 win in a league match of the SARJ Inter-School Football Tournament, at the Seth Anandram Jaipuria School ground here on Sunday. Chirag Dubey and Shaswat Verma scored for the winners, whereas Mahidol scored the consolation goal for the Seth Anandram Jaipuria.

In an under-16 encounter, CMS, Aliganj defeated Millennium School 3-1. Honey Yadav, Azhar and Devansh shared three goals between them. DPS, Janklpuram too had a similar 3-1 win against DPS, Inadr Nagar in other match of the day, where as

APS LBS Marg beat Morden School also by 3-1 in the last match of the day.

Shikhar, Rupak and Sumit scored a goal each.

SAMRIDDHI CUP

A sparkling half-century by Tapas helped CID Club beat Elina Cricket Club by 17 runs in a league match of the Samriddhi Cup Cricket Tournament, at the Chowk Stadium here on Sunday.

Batting first after winning the toss, CID Club piled up 167/9 in stipulated 20 overs. Tapas made 87, whereas Imran scored 38.

For Elina Cricket Club, Moin remained the most successful bowler, bagging four for 26, whereas Saurabh had two for 51.

In reply, Elina Cricket Club got out for 150 in 19.1 overs. Saurabh (54), Abhishek Mishra (28) and Mayank (25) were the key run getters.
