Lucknow lad saves puppy using robotic arm
LUCKNOW: A lot of people are fond of animals, specially dogs, but few would ever think of applying technology to save a canine in danger.
However, technology savvy Lucknowite Milind Raj took the social media by storm, rescuing a puppy using an advanced air lifter technology and robotic arm.
The rescue video went viral and is trending across the globe and Milind has been in the headlines for his outstanding work towards sustainable development using advanced technology.
“Around a month back, I was on my routine morning walk when I heard a puppy whimpering. I tried to find the puppy behind the surrounding walls, near tress, on roadsides, but in vain. I could never imagine that the poor puppy was trapped inside a drain. I was absolutely shocked to see this horrendous scene,” he said.
“The puppy was looking upwards and crying. I decided to use my innovative technology. I have designed a number of flying robots, air lifters and operational drones. But I had nothing with which I could hold the puppy. So I decided to make a robotic arm. very similar to humans and a retractable harness that acts like a neck support. I attached the robotic arm to my drone. Then I flew the entire setup and successfully grabbed the puppy and lifted him out. After rescue, the puppy vomited plastic sachets of ‘pan masala’ and dirty filth on which he survived inside the drain,” he said.
“There was no second chance in this rescue as one mistake could change the entire game. With my custom designed robotics arm equipped with world class artificial intelligence technology, I managed to set an example. The rescue operation hit the headlines in the USA, London and across the world. I strongly believe in developing technology for construction and not for destruction,” Milind said.
