Akhilesh hits unbeaten century for NDBGCC in C division league

LUCKNOW: A sparkling unbeaten century by Akhilesh Yadav (118, 107b, 11x4, 2x6) helped NDBG Cricket Club (NDBGCC) entre semi-finals of the C division cricket league, defeating National Cricket Club by five wickets here on Monday. Akhilesh was well supported by Gurinder Singh (59, 52b, 3x4, 4x4) as NDBGCC romped home in 37.2 overs while chasing 248 in 40 overs. Vijay Chauhan took three wickets. Earlier, Raja Khan’s unbeaten 93, which came off 65 balls with the 10 fours and four sixes, guided NCC score 247/7 in 40 overs. Vijay Chauhan (37) and Akshay Kumar (36) and Abhishek Bajpai (30*) were the other key run getters. Azad Singh had 3/46, whereas Javed took 2/17.

DARSHIT SHINES

Darshit Bhardwaj took 5/37 as SDS Cricket Academy scored a convincing four-wicket win against Awadh Sky Cricket Club in a B division league match, at the Pt Raas Bihari Tewari Stadium here on Monday. Batting first after winning the toss, ASCC could make 138 in 25.3 overs with Suryansh Singh hitting highest 28.

SCHOOL SOCCER

CMS, Aliganj defeated APS LBS Marg 3-1 in an under-16 match of the SAJS Football Champions Trophy, at the Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Alambagh Campus here on Monday. Rachit, Rishi and Aditya were the scorers for the winners. In other matches of the day, GD Goenka beat Seth MR Jaipuria, Gomti Nagar 3-1, DPS, Gomti Nagar beat LPS Vrindavan 3 -1, and Jagran Public School beat Mont Fort College 2 – 1 in an under-14 encounter.

TT TRIALS

Lucknow District Table Tennis Association (LDTTA) will organize trials on May 19 and 20, at the UPTTA Complex here. Trials will be conducted for junior boys/girls, sub-jr. boys/girls and cadet boys/girls. More details can be had from NK Lahiry by May 17.

STATE BASKETBALL

The 24th State Sub-Junior Basketball Championship will be held at Kanpur from May 26 to 30. Trials to select Lucknow teams for the said championship will be held at the La Martiniere Girls College on May 9 at 4.00 p.m.

Aman Agarwal surprised top seeded Pawan Batham by playing a draw in the second of the Black Shield Open Chess Tournament here on Monday. At the end of the second round, Yung David, Skand Tripathi, Farookh, Tanishka Gupta, Bhaumik Pandey, Mayank Pandey and Ranjan were in the joint lead.
