LUCKNOW: In a stern rebuff to its ally and UP’s cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar, who heads the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), the state chief of the BJP Mahendra Nath Pandey said the his party wouldn’t hesitate to act against such allies who were taking things for granted. “The tendency to keep making (embarrassing) statements against one’s own govt isn’t correct. Either he should mend ways or we will act,” Pandey said in one of the strongest rebuff to Rajbhar, who has been blowing hot and cold on the ruling party.

LUCKNOW: In a stern rebuff to its ally and UP’s cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar, who heads the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), the state chief of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahendra Nath Pandey said the his party wouldn’t hesitate to act against such allies who were taking things for granted.

“The tendency to keep making (embarrassing) statements publicly against one’s own government isn’t correct. Either he should mend ways or we will act,” Pandey said in one of the strongest rebuff to Rajbhar, who has been blowing hot and cold on the ruling party.

This comes at a time when the Yogi government is set for a cabinet reshuffle soon. The BJP had fielded Sakaldeep Rajbhar, an OBC from the same subcaste as that of Om Prakash, in the Rajya Sabha polls. Political observers see the move as BJP’s attempt to create its own homegrown Rajbhar leadership.

In the past, Om Prakash Rajbhar has even accused chief minister Yogi Adityanath of being blinded by his officers. Meanwhile, UP BJP chief also announced heads of different units. UP BJP general secretary Pankaj Singh, an MLA, would head the Kisan Morcha, general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak, an MLC has been appointed head of the party’s OBC morcha while Ranjana Upadhyaya would head its Mahila Morcha and Vidyacharan Sonkar the SC/ST Morcha.
