UP’s pass percentage not far behind allIndia figure

Pass percentage­s of ICSE and ISC candidates across India are 98.51 and 96.21 as compared to UP students’ percentage­s of 97.24 and 95.66 respective­ly

LUCKNOW: While Lucknow and UP students dominated the ISC merit list this year, the pass percentage of ICSE and ISC candidates from the state was just a shade below the all-India figure.

Overall in India, the pass percentage of ICSE candidates was 98.51 and that of ISC students 96.21 as compared to UP students’ percentage­s of 97.24 and 95.66 respective­ly.

Last year, ISC saw a pass percentage of 96.47, while 98.53% students passed Class 10.

In all-India ICSE, 98.95% girls cleared the exam as compared to 98.15% boys. And in ISC, girls achieved a pass percentage of 97.63 and 94.96% boys cleared the exam.

In UP, ICSE girls’ pass percentage was 98.09% while boys achieved a pass percentage of 96.64%. Similarly in ISC, girls’ pass percentage was 97.10% while boys’ pass percentage was 94.52%.

From UP, students from 341 ICSE and 279 ISC schools took the examinatio­ns. From the state, number of candidates who appeared in ICSE was 40,346 (including 23,527 boys and 16,819 girls).

In ISC, 28,290 took the examinatio­n in UP, of which 15,820 were boys and remaining 12,470 girls.

In ICSE, 2,365 Scheduled Caste candidates took the examinatio­n from UP achieving a pass percentage of 94.76% and 178 Scheduled Tribe candidates took the examinatio­n achieving a pass percentage of 98.31%.

A total of 9,620 Other Backward Classes candidates took the examinatio­n achieving a pass percentage of 96.88%.

In ISC, 1,400 Scheduled Caste candidates took the examinatio­n achieving a pass percentage of 95.00% and 89 Scheduled

LAST YEAR, ISC SAW A PASS PERCENTAGE OF 96.47, WHILE 98.53% STUDENTS PASSED CLASS 10.

Tribe candidates took the examinatio­n achieving a pass percentage of 94.38%.

A total of 5,630 Other Backward Classes candidates took the examinatio­n achieving a pass percentage of 95.36%
