AGRA: At least four people were killed in separate incidents during storm and rain in Agra division on Saturday evening.

In the first incident, three people were killed as the roof of an under- construction house collapsed on them at Tanora village in Firozabad.

Owner of the house, Saudan Singh, was away when the incident occurred. The deceased included his wife and two labourers who were working at the site. Singh’s 12-year-old daughter sustained critical injuries in the incident.

“The under-construction house was struck by high speed winds and rain. The labourers had laid an iron net to construct the concrete roof. They were installing electricity fittings when the strong wind blew away the net and they got trapped under the debris,” stated RK Singh, SP (city) Firozabad.

“Those killed included Sonkali, 30 and two labourers Vinod Kumar, 25 and Mahaveer Singh, 45. The woman’s daughter Nandini, 12, was critically injured and was shifted for treatment,” said SP (city) after visiting the house on the outskirts of Firozabad city.

The bodies of the three were taken to the post-mortem house.

In another incident, a farmer died when a tree fell on him due to high speed wind, said SP Mainpuri, Ajay Shankar Rai.
