Akhilesh meets families of two dalit farmers
KANPUR: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday visited the families of two dalit farmers who had committed suicide in Mahoba in March this year.
The former chief minister, who was touring Madhya Pradesh, made changes in his programme and came down to Mahoba in Bundekhand.
Later speaking to reporters , he said dalits and poor were not getting justice in the country and Uttar Pradesh. He said both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Yogi Adityanath had failed on the development front.
The two farmers Thakurdas Ahirwar and Raj Bahadur ended their life on March 6 and March 7 this year in Kahrara Kalan village of Mahoba, allegedly due to financial crisis.

reaching out to the dalits. Today’s move is being seen as the party’s effort to bridge the Yadav-dalit gap, especially in rural areas.
During his 45 minutes stay, the SP leader met the families of two farmers and assured them all possible help. He said whether the state government did something or not, his party would do the best possible to help them.
He said his government worked with a vision for Bundelkhand where thousands of ponds were revived to alleviate the water crisis.
Not favouring a separate Bundelkhand, he said smaller states hadn’t done well anywhere.
