CM felicitates toppers of various boards
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that 90% of the 12 lakh examinees who skipped the UP Board examination because of strictness were from bordering states like Bihar, Jharkhand and others. He showered praise on UP Board officials for conducting free and fair exams.
He said this while speaking at a function to felicitate toppers of various boards at Dr BR Ambedkar auditorium at Dr RML National Law University.
The CM congratulated girl students for notching top ranks in the board examinations. The CM said UP Board was the first to declare results in April and was able to conduct copying-free exams. Out of 11 toppers from different boards who were felicitated by the CM, eight were girls and three boys. “Out of 97 toppers from UP Board, 62 were girls. Girls are studying and if given an opportunity, they can take the country and the state to greater heights,” said Adityanath.
The CM also lauded City Montessori School and its founder manager, Jagdish Gandhi, saying several CMS students figured in the all-India merit list of ISC this year. The CM felicitated 11 toppers on the stage while a total of 1,709 meritorious students were honoured by the state government. Vanshika Agarwal, 18, of La Martiniere Girls’ College who shared all India third rank with others in ISC exam with 99% from humanities stream was also honoured. She achieved the feat after her copy went for re-evaluation.
