Soon, additional inspectors at police stations in big cities
LUCKNOW: To improve police working and lower work pressure on personnel, the UP police top brass is mulling over posting of two additional inspectors for law and order and crime at police stations in big cities and one additional inspector at police stations in small cities.
On Thursday, UP director general of police (DGP) OP Singh held a meeting with senior police officials including ADG Technical Services Ashutosh Pandey, ADG 1090 Anju Gupta and ADG UP 100 Aditya Midhra as well as some PPS officers and inspector rank police personnel.
After marathon discussions, the DGP formed a six-member committee led by ADG Ashutosh Pandey to submit its recommendations related to role and utility of additional inspectors to be posted at police stations. The committee comprises three PPS officers, including two ASPs, a DSP and two inspectors.
The DGP said the committee would submit a report after discussing different aspects of police working and practical problems that could arise in implementing this concept. He said the senior officers as well as inspector rank police personnel were also included in the committee so that all aspects were properly covered and incorporated before implementing the new concept.
He said the plan was to post two additional inspectors other than a regular inspector in-charge at police stations. Moreover, the additional inspectors in small cities would be posted as per the availability of inspectors in the respective districts, he added.
ADDL INSPECTORS IN SMALL CITIES WOULD BE POSTED AS PER THE AVAILABILITY OF INSPECTORS IN THE RESPECTIVE DISTRICTS
