Journalism existed during Mahabharata: Dinesh Sharma

-

AGRA:Joining the list of BJP leaders linking modern inventions with ancient India, deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma has claimed that journalism existed during ‘Mahabharata’.

Referring to Sanjay’s description of Mahabharat to Dhritrashtra, the deputy CM said it was nothing less than a live telecast.

Sharma said this while addressing a gathering to mark ‘Hindi Patrakarita Diwas’ in Mathura on Wednesday.

“While journalism was perfected later by the world, in India it prevailed since the time of Mahabharata,” said the deputy chief minister.

“The character of Mahabharata, Sanjay, narrated the proceedings of war between Pandavas and Kauravas in Kurukshetra to Dhritrashtra and this is what we call live telecast,” said Sharma who went on drawing different similarities with ancient characters. To further strengthen his point of view, Sharma equated ‘Narad Muni’ with search engine ‘Google’ and said Narad Muni transferred information with such ease and efficiency while citing ‘Narayana’ thrice in his conversations.

Sharma claimed that the BJP regime in state was alert to its responsibility to ensure security to journalists and promised financial relief to families of journalists meeting untimely deaths.

In a similar event in Agra, Dinesh Sharma applauded the role of journalists in making society a better place to live in by raising issues related to common people.
