Citing Sita’s birth, Dy CM says test tube baby existed in Ramayan era
LUCKNOW:Deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma on Thursday said the concept of test tube baby was prevalent even during the period of Ramayan as Lord Ram’s wife Sita was born from an earthen pot.
He also likened mythological character Sanjay to Google and suggested that internet existed during the Mahabharat era.
“Just imagine how Sita was born out of an earthen pot. King Janak was ploughing the field when he found a baby crying inside an earthern pot. There must have been some project of test tube baby prevalent at that time,” Sharma said, while inaugurating the Northern chapter of India Skills Regional Competitions-2018 at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan here.
He added the concept of aeroplane was also there during the Ramayan period as Lord Ram, Sita and Laxman returned to Ayodhya from Lanka on ‘Pushpak vimaan’ (flight).
“Today, people use Google to find out what all is happening around the world. In the Mahabharat age, mythological character Sanjay narrated the developments of Mahabharat war to Dhritarashtra while sitting in Hastinapur. Yeh live telecast nahi to aur kya hai (if it is not live telecast, what else is it),” Sharma asked.
Addressing an event organised in Mathura on Wednesday to mark the ‘Hindi Journalism Day’, Sharma rejected various theories on the origin of journalism and claimed it started during the Mahabharat era.
The BJP minister also likened another mythological character Narad to the present-day Google.
“Your Google has started now but our Google started long time back. Narad Muni was the epitome of information. He could reach anywhere and transfer a message from one place to another by saying ‘Narayana’ thrice,” he said.
BJP leaders have been courting controversy in the past by claiming that gravitation theory, nuclear tests and the internet originated in India and advanced medical procedures like cataract and plastic surgery started during ancient times.
Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb had said that internet and satellites existed during the era of Mahabharat and India invented advanced technology lakhs of years ago.
