Railway Board chairman inspects Gorakhpur station
GORAKHPUR: Railway Board chairman Ashwini Lohani held a review meeting with railway officials, including North Eastern Railway general manager Rajeev Aggarwal and heads of various departments here on Friday.
Lohani inspected the mechanical workshop, rail museum, rail hospital, and the Gorakhpur railway station.
He also took stock of the circulating area of the station to assess passenger rush and inspected the running room, crew lobby and cabway. He was accompanied by the general manager and officials.
While chairing the meeting, he said track renewal and maintenance work was underway in different zones of the railways. The transformation directorate had taken many initiatives for the structural, cultural and procedural improvement of the Indian Railways, he said.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, railway minister Piyush Goyal, as well as the common man, had great expectations from the railways.
He lauded the NER officials for their dedicated works in helping railways provide best facilities to passengers and expressed happiness over world class passenger amenities at Gorakhpur railway station
Lohani was given a presentation on achievements and the proposed NER schemes by general manager Rajeev Aggarwal.
He also spoke to the drivers, gangmen, keyman, gatemen and assured them their grievances will redressed.
