ONLINE FLESH TRADE RACKET UNEARTHED, EIGHT HELD

LUCKNOW: The city police, on Saturday, claimed to have busted an online flesh trade racket being operated by a group of youngsters studying in private colleges and universiti­es in Lucknow. Vibhuti Khand police have arrested eight people including three girls.

Inspector of Vibhuti Khand police station, Brijesh Rai said those arrested were identified as Vipin Sharma, Vikas Yadav, Karamdev Yadav, Shatrughan Singh and three girls including one from West Bengal. He said an illegal pistol was also recovered from Vipin’s possession.

“The flesh trade racket was busted by chance when we nabbed Vipin Sharma after spotting his car parked at a deserted stretch alongside Kathauta Jheel during the night patrolling at around 2.30am. The three others were also present in his car but they managed to flee while being chased,” said Rai.

Vipin Sharma revealed that he was operating an online flesh trade racket while he was quizzed about the illegal firearm he possessed, Rai said and added that Sharma was pursuing higher studies from a private university in the city and his mother was a politician.

Rai said seven other people including three girls were arrested on revelation­s made by Sharma. Four of the other arrested youths, including a girl, were also pursuing different courses from different colleges and universiti­es in the city, he added.
