CM undertakes Panchkosi Yatra, walks barefoot in Varanasi lanes
VARANASI : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday walked barefoot in narrow lanes of Kashi while undertaking auspicious Panchkosi Yatra. During the journey, he also inspected facilities available for pilgrims on either site of the yatra route.
Soon after landing in Police Lines ground, the chief minister reached the Circuit House. Then, he released a book ‘Sambhavami Yuge Yuge’. After a brief halt there, Yogi Adityanath reached Manikarnika Ghat gate and walked up to the ghat where he preformed puja at Manikarnika Kund before embarking on the yatra.
Damaru (two-headed drums) beats welcomed the chief minister at Manikarnika Ghat. As Yogi walked in the narrow lanes, children and Damaru Dal members played the two-headed drums. Yogi walked in the narrow lane leading to Maidagini-Godaulia road and then went to Kashi Vishwanath Temple. He offered prayers to Lord Shiva there and sought blessings of Baba Vishwanath. He walked back to Manikarnika Kund and performed puja again.
After the puja, the CM took a boat ride to famous Assi Ghat. There onwards, Yogi travelled by road to Kandwa, first destination of the yatra. He inspected the first destination, walked for a while. After a brief halt, his cavalcade reached second destination Bhimchandi Devi Temple.
He bowed down before the goddess and proceeded for Rameshwar, the third destination, where he offered prayers. His cavalcade proceeded for the fourth destination Shivpur. At every destination, Yogi walked a few metres. Then his cavalcade reached the final destination Kapil Dhara. From final destination, he reached the Circuit House for night halt.
On Sunday morning, Yogi Adityanath will hold a meeting with village heads at Trade Facilitation Centre under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He would also seek information about condition of cleanliness in the villages.
