In expansion mode, RSS Kashi women wing trains 150 girls

VARANASI: Planning to expand across eastern UP, Rashtra Sevika Samiti, the women wing of Rashtriya Swayamseva­k Sangh, has recruited and trained over 150 girls studying in Class 1oth to graduation.

RSS organised a fortnight training camp at Nivedita Siksha Sadan here to apprise the newlyrecru­ited volunteers of the RSS culture, discipline, values and daily routine of a dedicated volunteers.

Kajal Singh, B. Com second year student at a college in Varanasi, learned stick fighting and judo-karate and Surya Namaskar in the training camp. She will start the wing in Fulvariya area.

Kajal told HT, “I learned discipline and why it is very important, I learned the art of stick fighting and Surya Namaskar besides working with dedication for the cause of society and the nation. It was a very fruitful training.”

“I will arrange a morning Shakha in my area,” said the girl who wants to become a probationa­ry officer in the bank.

Muskan Kashyap, a student of B Sc and her friend Harshita Singh, a B.Com student, also have similar plans. They along with newly recruited volunteers learned stick fighting, practiced Surya Namaskar, oratory skills and also self-defence techniques.

Among 377 female volunteers, many are pursuing graduation, while others are in senior secondary standard.

Sharda Pandey, RSS women wing regional karyavahik­a, said, “Training is annual activity. Girls were trained in Judo karate, stick fighting for self defence and also in basic rules, ethics and discipline, must for each volunteer. The girls have successful­ly completed their training and have taken resolution to work for the cause of the nation.”

At present there are 108 shakhas managed my Rashtra sevikas in different parts of Eastern UP. In near future, Rashtra Sevikas will start 200 more new shakhas.

Payal Soni, media in-charge of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Kashi area, said narration of moral stories was also a part of the training.
