Dr Kafeel says KGMU doctor misbehaved, retracts

-

LUCKNOW: Dr Kafeel Khan, whose brother Kashif Jameel was on Tuesday referred to KGMU after his condition deteriorated at a private hospital in Gorakhpur, demanded on Wednesday that the doctor attending his brother be changed. Kashif, an engineer, had sustained three bullet injuries after he was shot at by unidentified criminals in Gorakhnath area on Sunday night.

Kafeel allegedly objected to recording of injuries by the medical staff at the KGMU and claimed that the doctor attending his brother misbehaved with him.He also wrote a letter to the university’s vice-chancellor claiming that Dr Samir Mishra, who was attending Kashif, misbehaved with him and he should not attend his brother.

However, Kafeel later said he did not have any issues with the doctor, adding that the condition of his brother was improving.

Refuting Kafeel’s allegations, Dr Samir Mishra said: “Recording of injuries in such a case is a routine procedure but Dr Khan caused hindrance in it.” Dr Mishra said he was pressurised by Kafeel while he was following routine medical procedure. “I will report the matter to the vicechancellor’s office,” he said.

“There are no issues now. The problem was between doctors and has been sorted out,” Kafeel said over the phone. The KGMU doctors also conducted some diagnostic tests on Kashif on Wednesday.
