Milestone man Sarfraz helps Pak upstage Scotland

EDINBURGH: Sarfraz Ahmed became Pakistan’s most successful Twenty20 internatio­nal captain and posted his highest score in the format as Scotland succumbed to a 48-run defeat in Edinburgh on Tuesday.

Having won the toss and elected to bat at Grange Cricket Club, Sarfraz led by example for Pakistan, charging to an unbeaten 89 from 49 deliveries to help his team post 204-4 from their 20 overs.

In reply, Scotland lost wickets at crucial intervals and could only manage 156/6.

NEWDELHI:Discus thrower Seema Punia on Tuesday missed the deadline to confirm her participat­ion for the National InterState Athletics Championsh­ips, in Guwahati from June 26-29. Athletes’ participat­ion in the event is mandatory to qualify for the Asian Games. She had won silver in CWG 2018 and is currently training in Russia.
