Akhilesh, Mayawati invited to join CM in Yoga Day celebratio­ns

LUCKNOW: The state government has invited Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati to join the fourth edition of Internatio­nal Yoga Day celebratio­ns with chief minister Yogi Adityanath and governor Ram Naik on June 21.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, minister of state for Ayush Dharam Singh Saini said, “Though Akhilesh and Mayawati are opposition leaders, we wish they remain fit and healthy. A hale and hearty politician will do healthy politics as well.”

The Internatio­nal Yoga Day programme will be organised at Raj Bhawan from 6-8 am. The programme will also be organised at all the district headquarte­rs, tehsil and block headquarte­rs across the state.

“Several programmes including yoga utsav, seminars and workshops are organised in all the districts for which the DMs, SDMs and BDOs concerned have been nominated as the nodal officer,” Saini said.

“The volunteers of Patanjali Yoga Centre, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Gayatri Parivar, Brahmakuma­ris, Art of Living and NCC cadets will participat­e in the programmes,” he added.
