LUCKNOW : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said coordinated efforts by the central and state governments will assist in solving people’s problems and take to the new heights of development. Adityanath was speaking at the fourth meeting of the Niti Ayog governing council held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Sunday. People familiar with the matter said the PM appreciated the chief minister for his achievement on various schemes.

It was necessary to equip farmers with new agricultural techniques in order to double their income by 2022, he said.
Twenty new agriculture science centres and 100 agriculture welfare centres were being set up in the state to achieve the target, he said. Stressing on the welfare of cane farmers, the chief minister said the state government had cleared sugarcane arrears of Rs 32,940 crore.
As many as 86 lakh small and medium farmers benefitted from the loan waiver scheme for which the state government earmarked Rs 36,000 crore in its annual budget, he said.
The state government launched a drive for wheat and paddy procurement, transferring Rs 6663.32 crore directly into farmers’ bank accounts, he said.
