Inter-district transfer policy for basic edu teachers initiated
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath recently rolled out the inter-district transfer policy for basic shiksha parishad teachers of UP. With the transfer portal functional now, the CM also asked officials to clear all applied postings till the end of June.
A proposal to allow inter-district transfer of basic education teachers was floated in January this year.
Online applications were invited till February 15.
Reportedly, 37,396 teachers applied for inter-district transfers, of which 31,513 were verified according to recommendations of the basic education officers of the respective districts. The transfer applicants were selected through a transparent marking system.
The applicants were apprised of the marking they received and were also allowed to point out any discrepancies.
A committee was formed to look into and address the reported discrepancies.
The education department started handing out transfer orders early this week.
As many as 8,918 assistant teachers and 3,045 headmasters have been transferred.
Education minister Anupama Jaiswal, minister of state Sandeep Singh, education secretary RP Singh and other officials were present at the inauguration of the new transfer policy.
The chief minister has also advised that before the new academic session begins in July, gram panchayats should ensure cleanliness at government schools in their area.
The CM has also asked officials to prepare for distribution of shoes, uniforms and books before the new session commences.
Adequate measures for midday meal distribution and availibity of potable water and sanitation arrangements for students have also been ordered by the CM.
