PCS (mains)-2017 at Allahabad, Lucknow to begin today
ALLAHABAD: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), Allahabad, will conduct combined state/upper subordinate services (mains)-2017, commonly known as UPPCS (mains) exam, in Lucknow and Allahabad from June 18 to July 6.
In Allahabad, the examination will take place at 17 centres while in Lucknow the exam will be held at 11 centres. The examination dates were announced by UPPSC after the Supreme Court stayed a high court order on the examination in response to a special leave petition filed by the commission.
A senior UPPSC officer said barring general studies, the first session of the examination would be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm while the second shift will be held between 2 pm and 5 pm.
“The General Studies (paper-I) will be held between 9.30 am and 11.30 pm while General Studies (paper-II) will be held from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm on June 18,” said UPPSC secretary Jagdish.
“General Hindi examination would be held in the first session followed by essay paper in the second session. After compulsory subjects, the candidates will get a gap on June 20. Examination of
other subjects will be held from June 21 onwards,” he said.
As per Jagdish since examinations for Indian Economic Service, Indian Statistical Service2018 and other examinations were scheduled for June 29, 30 and July 1, the UPPSC avoided fixing any exam on these dates.
