MUSLIMS RAISE ANTIPAK SLOGANS IN SAHARANPUR
MEERUT: Hundreds of Muslims came out on the street in Behat town of Saharanpur after offering the Eid namaz on Saturday and raised anti-Pakistan slogans.
These protesters were annoyed over the neighbouring country’s ceasefire violation in Kashmir valley during the holy month of Ramzan and the killing of Indian soldier Aurangzeb just before Eid.
Thousands of namazis at the Eidgah prayed for peace and brotherhood in the country and the world. Later, a group including children came out on the street and chanted ‘Pakistan Murdabad’.
They also burnt an effigy of Pakistan. In a separate incident, a group of Muslim families in Sarvat locality of adjoining Muzaffarnagar district did not celebrate Eid, protesting the killing of Indian soldier Aurangzeb in the valley just before Eid. They only offered the Eid namaz.
Speaking on the current violence in the Kashmir valley, Congress leader Imran Masood blamed “wrong policies” of the union government for the “deteriorating law and order situation”.
“What the Congress did in the past many years for bringing normalcy (in Kashmir) has been spoilt by the wrong policies of the Modi government,” he said.
