Over 200 more buses to begin services today

CHIEF MINISTER YOGI ADITYANATH HAD DEDICATED THE STATEOFTHE­ART BUS TERMINAL TO THE PUBLIC ON JUNE 12

LUCKNOW: Over 200 more buses will start ferrying passengers from the modern, high-tech Alambagh bus terminal from Tuesday. In all, 195 additional buses will start from the terminal, while 70 will pass from here after picking up passengers from other terminals.

The services will cover not just UP, but also Rajasthan and New Delhi.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath had dedicated the state-ofthe-art bus terminal to the public on June 12, with 395 buses plying from here in the first phase. Constructe­d at an overall cost of over Rs 232 crore, the terminal has a capacity to park 50 buses on different platforms and 60 in the basement parking area.

The PPP project was undertaken jointly by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporatio­n and the Shalimar Corporatio­n.

The transit station complex includes a mega mall, a food court, a gaming zone, a fine dining area, a six-screen multiplex and a world class hotel.

All facilities have been designed in such a manner that passengers get to see the buses as well as the timing display, so that they don’t miss their rides.

The state government has plans to build / upgrade over 20 other bus terminals of UP on a similar pattern.
