PMSA team meets CM, discusses measures to improve health care
LUCKNOW:A delegation of Provincial Medical Services Association (PMSA), body of government doctors, met chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday and discussed measures for improving healthcare services in the state.
Dr Ashok Yadav, the president of PMSA and Dr Amit Singh, general secretary of the PMSA discussed various issues. “Young doctors are not joining government services. Hence there is need to give them offers that can attract them to the government sector,” said Dr Yadav.
The members in the delegation said that if young doctors were given good salaries and those working were provided chance to become medical teachers or opportunity to do advanced courses more doctors would be attracted to the government sector hospitals.
“The non-practicing allowance in Maharastra is 35% and we hope the government will consider the same for us,” said Dr Amit Singh.
“The government has increased the retirement age but we suggested that if the option of VRS is kept open for doctors then those willing may continue and those not may retire by choice. The working environment should be such that more doctors join as there are around 11,000 doctors in the government sector for the entire population of the state,” said Dr Singh.
Chief minister listened to the entire discussion in detail and also said that the issues would be addressed soon, said Dr Yadav. Apart from Dr Yadav and Dr Singh the delegation comprised Dr Ashutosh Kumar Dubey and Vikasendu Agrawal.
