LUCKNOW: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati said on Friday the BJP led government at the Centre had released video film of the surgical strike to serve its vested political interest.

Terming the release of the video a political conspiracy, Mayawati said, “Brave soldiers of the Indian Army had carried out surgical strike in Pakistan occupied Kashmir to destroy the terror launchpads and camps run by the terrorist groups. The soldiers had won the accolade of the people, no one has expressed doubt over the surgical strike nor asked for its evidence. If the central government wished to present proof of the surgical then it should have released the video when it was carried out.”

“The video has been released when the Lok Sabha elections are near. The BJP leaders know that it has failed on all the fronts; demonetization and GST have hurt the economy of the country. Now to divert the attention of the people from public issues, the government has released the video. The BJP is adopting all the tricks to regain power but the people are aware of its designs,” she said. Mayawati said the NDA government did nothing for the welfare of the Dalits and backward community people. Referring to visit of the Prime Minister to Sant Kabir Samadhi at Maghar, Mayawati said they remembered the contribution of the Dalit/ Backward icons when Lok Sabha elections were drawing near.
