Occasional raids of hostel will be done by proctorial board in coordination with district administration. The dist administration has agreed to remove posters and banners of selfproclaimed student leaders from campus. PROF NK PANDEY, spokesperson, University of Lucknow
SK Shukla, SP (TG) Harendra Kumar, ADM (TG) Anil Kumar, ACM-5 Pooja Mishra, LUTA general secretary Durgesh Srivastava, LUTA president Prof Dinesh Kumar, SHO Hasanganj Rajesh Kumar Singh, chief provost Prof. Sangeeta Rani, DSW Prof RK Singh and others
The move assumes significance due to the fact that on July 2, Pooja Shukla of Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha sat on hunger strike to protest the ‘unreasonable stand of the univesity’ that denied her admission. Former LU VC Prof Roop Rekha Verma, social activists, literary personalities and some teachers met Pooja on July 3 to show solidarity with her .
The university was not pleased with the visit of Prof Verma and others on the campus, as according to LU they were siding with a candidate who waved black flag to chief minister Yogi Adityanath during his visit to the campus on June 7 last year.
Sources said it was also decided that the vehicles would not be allowed inside the varsity without pass. Entry to the campus would be allowed through gate numbers 1, 4 and 5 only, sources said.
“Only visitors with genuine reasons will be allowed to enter the campus. It was also decided that no students would get entry without identity card. Hostel inmates will have to make a disclosure if they keep two-wheelers in the hostel,” said LU spokesperson Prof NK Pandey.
Pandey said, “Occasional raids and checking of hostel will be done by proctorial board in coordination with district administration. The district administration has agreed to remove posters and banners of self-proclaimed student leaders from around the university campus.”
