MEERUT Rashtriya Lok Dal leaders and workers will collect the data pertaining to problems that people are facing during the 40-day ‘poll khol, dhawa bol’ campaign starting from Agra on July 13.

Party’s national vice president Jayant Chaudhary announced the details of the campaign during party’s membership function held here on Saturday.

Many leaders, activists and councillors from Baghpat including AIMIM’s west UP organisational incharge Shadab Chauhan, state executive committee member Mufti Kamil, district president of Baghpat unit of the party Yaseen Malik, councillors Rashid Rao, Ateeq, Kareem Multani, Shahzad and Zahid Khan announced to join RLD along with their supporters.

Interacting with the supporters and party workers, Jayant said that party leaders and workers have been asked to fan out in their respective areas to meet people. They will carry a proforma to note down the problems of people and this collection of data would be used to expose the claims of the ruling party.

He charged the government of doing business through their welfare schemes and said the much hyped Ayushman scheme has been designed to benefit big hospitals.

He said that huge amount of subsidy money would be used to benefit insurance companies.

He further added that quality of government services has gone down in the past few years and in most matters, the government is only showing off.

Coming down heavily on the state government, the RLD leader criticised the decision of increasing electricity tariff twice in past six months and said, “Government is befooling farmers in the name of doubling their income.”

Commenting on hike or minimum support price of different crops, he said it was doubtful as to how the government would ensure to provide the MSP to farmers from traders, and said it again seemed only an eyewash.

He called upon the party workers to work hard to revive the victory of Kairana in forthcoming elections and said that Kairana has given befitting reply to those forces that bank upon the politics of dividing people.Party’s national general secretary Rajendra Sharma and Trilok Tyagi also addressed the gathering and welcomed newcomers in the party.
