UGC-NET examinees allege paper leak
ALLAHABAD: The 7th UGC-NET examination was held at 52 centers in the city. The examination was held in two shifts.
However, after delay in commencement of examination at one of the examination centers at SP Convent Inter College caused due to late distribution of answer sheets, around 600 examinees came out on road alleging paper leak. The examinees staged demonstration on GT road in Begum Bazaar area and blocked traffic movement for nearly an hour.
Examinees alleged that the paper was leaked due to which the same was provided around half an hour late.
Later in the day, regional officer of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for Allahabad region having 53 districts
of UP under its purview Shvetta Arora informed the allegation of a paper leak was baseless.
As per Arora, officials of the Board on learning about the incident rushed to the examination center and tried to pacify the examinees asking them to wait for two hours so that the Board could provide them a new set of question paper, but the examinees took to road and started staging demonstration.
She said on Sunday out of 36,512 examinees slated to appear at 52 centres in city, 32,803 appeared. She said re-examination for the 600 examinees will be scheduled within a week’s time.
As per the regional officer, the proposal for cancelling affiliation of the particular school had already been forwarded to Delhi headquarters. Besides two FIRs would be lodged in the incident. The first will be lodged by the Board against centre superintendent while the second FIR will be lodged against the mob which created ruckus outside the examination centre.
